and how’s it going with you all of late?  That’s great now shut up and read.  I really haven’t been up to a whole hell of a lot recently, same as usual.  Played the hell outa some Rock Band, watched some movies, mainly Caddyshack.  The main thing that happened this week was Football Camp.  A bunch of recon from last year and running.  Well this year came around and I wasn’t exactly feeling up to par.  In fact, I was so far off par that I was in the hospital.  Granted, it was only for a day, but it still sucked.  I had what they call cluster headaches, which is a bunch of little ones that hurt like shit in a row.  Painkiller doesn’t work because it only treated one headache, and it also made me nautious.  They gave me something called Imatrex, and that shite worked swimmingly.  They said the headaches were probably caused from a bit of dehydration, which was probably caused by a bunch of diahrrea, pardon the possible spelling error.  Either way the doctor told me to sit out for a week.  Oh darn.  No running, jumping, or any physical activity.  So what they were telling me was to be myself.  So I did.

This weekend seems to be a loaded one for somebody just recovering from all that mentioned above.  Saturday I’m going to a mud volleyball party for a while, and then Sunday (barring any setbacks) I’ll be headed to World’s of Fun.  I’m pretty stoked.  That’s all I really have to write about that.

In my musical news, I’ve been listening to a little group you may have heard of.  ‘Should have heard of’ is actually what I should say.  The Who are a really amazing band that have a top 5 in everything.  Drummer Keith Moon, although dead now, is easily in the top two, the other being the drummer from Rush.  Roger Dahltrey is a really good vocalist.  Peter Townshend is just a really fun guitarist.  John Entwhistle, also deceased, is a crazy bassist.  He plays that thing like another lead.  If you haven’t checked these guys out, go do it now. After you finish up here of course.

Actually that about does it for me.  Until next time America. Take it easy.

Air Dude…and the downfall of….

Well my apologies once again for being lazy and not blogging.  It is actually a mixture of that and the fact that I’m at my Dad’s casa Monday-Thursday due to weights at 6:30 AM.  Anyways, on to my post.

Every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 PM we have an open gym shootaround.  Anybody who wants to come and get better at basketball is welcome to take their shot, make their pass, or play some D.  On Tuesday night my legs were feeling pretty good.  I thought for sure it would be the day that I finally achieve my goal of dunking the ball.  Being 6′4″, it’s kind of hard looking up and knowing at my height I should be able to do it, but my jumping skill is….not there.  However Tuesday night was not my night, although I had a decent shootaround defensively.

Tonight was my last chance for the week.  Having done a bunch of reps that day on squat, I really had little faith in my ability (what little there was) to jump up high enough.  Well I took off and jumped, and everything fell into place.  I dunked the ball.  Now, this may or may not seem like a big deal to you readers (if you exist), but to me it was just a freakin’ relief.  After repeating the feat I decided not to try my luck any further, as my legs were already done and shootaround hadn’t even started.

My team went undefeated, but I was only present for 4 of the 6 games.  After driving left, I was grounded by an ankle twist.  This is nothing new for me.  I have the worst ankles in the history of ankles.  I’ve sprained each one at least 4 times.  Either way it still hurt.  But that’s the worst of it….right?  Read on.

My father wishes to save on gas.  Not a big deal.  But when that consists of me driving a 1991 Geo-Metro things get a little hairy.  I suck at driving a stick shift.  Mainly at STOP signs, becuase I always seem to kill it there.  So my Mom living 30 miles away and in the middle of town is not good for me.  So, twisted ankle and all (I know it’s irrelevant, but I’m still angry.)  There are 5 signs and 2 stop lights on my way to Mom’s house.  I killed it 3/7 of the time.  I was pretty bummed.  I imagine the guy behind me was also a bit frustrated.  I almost rolled into him.  Stupid manual transmission with their gear-shifts and their clutches.  Phooey…jackasses all of them.  Anyways I’m home safe and sound, and a little chapped.

That about does it for me.  Until next time America.  Take it easy.

After all this time I’ve returned….

only to rant about the stupidity of people yet again.  However I will first update you on all the happenings of myself.

Before my new significant other left for Girls State for the week, her, Allen, and myself went bowling.  I found yet another thing that I won’t be going pro in.  After a 91, 92, and a whopping 118, I decided to hang up my aspirations for being the master pin knocker downer guy (or bowler if you will) and move on.  Also, my bowling shoes were getting a little raunchy.  Well after that the week really moved slowly.  Weights started, so that means getting up Monday through Thursday at 6AM to be at weights by 6:30.  Afterwards, I come home and nap, watch some TV and chill.  Pretty boring.

I did happen upon a very intriguing talk show over the week.  The Steve Wilkos show.  You may or may not recall him as being a big bald security guard for Springer.  However, his show is an in your face look what you are doing you dumbass type show that gives fuck-ups (wife beaters, drug addicts, whores, etc.) a total reality check.  It’s a pretty cool show.  Anyways, that is about it.  On Tuesday and Thursday I had a basketball shootaround, but only 7 people showed up to each, and 3 on 3 full court is kind of tiring.  Moving on.

As you may or may not have read in recent posts, I have a recently ex’ed girlfriend who will not take the hint.  This has been really starting to get on my nerves.  She constantly wants to hang out, conveniently more so when my new girlfriend was out of town for the week.  I keep politely denying, but I do believe I am going to have to be more assertive.  Like, fuck off type of assertive.  My reasoning for this is that today I was going to go to Wal-Mart to help my mom load something in my truck, like the angel I am.  As I am mozying out I notice that my truck looks a tad off.  Red, white, and green window paint type stuff was all over my windows.  Now normally I would just let it go and laugh it off.  However this particular time I needed the truck at that moment.  I was a little miffed, and Mom wasn’t much more enthused about having to drive home to help me clean it up and then drive back to Wal-Mart.  Granted, it is only about 1 1/2 miles, but with gas getting to 4 bucks a gallon, any trip not needed shouldn’t be taking.  While I have no proof against anyone, I do have my suspicions as to who it is.  Perhaps the leading candidate would be my ex?  As we are hauling the wheelbarrow out of my truck a certain somebody drives by and honks, laughing.  Really fuckin’ funny.  Thanks.  Cleaning it off wasn’t a waste of time or anything.  I despise immaturity, and my truck was a prime example of people displaying that exact thing.

Oh well though.  I shall overcome!  That about does it for me.  Something something Big Brown…..ah who gives a fuck?  In real sports news, Celtics took Game 1 after a dramatic re-entrance of the injured Paul Pierce.  Now Philly Phil Jackson is questioning whether the injury was legitimate.  Hey, why would he intentionally take himself out of the game?  The fact is, you got beat.  Tough.  Although I would like to see the Celtics reclaim some of their NBA glory, I actually have the Lakers in 6 games.  Who knows though?  The Big Three are pretty damn good.

That is really about it this time.  Until next time America.  Take it easy.

Well it’s been a while since I last graced you with my writing.  Just kidding, but not really.  Anyways there have been some goings on that I would like to comment on.

First off is the collapse of the Phoenix Suns.  Bummer man, major bummer.  Pretty sure Mike D. is on his way out as the head coach.  The man who pushed for Big Cactus couldn’t beat the Spurs at their own game.  I’m now pulling for a Lakers-Celtics matchup, if the Celtics can get their shit together.

Next up, the NFL Draft.  Being a Cheesehead myself, I was pulling for a good draft from the Pack to patch up the loss of the Favre.  Brian Brohm out of Louisville is a good fit for them I think.  He knows that West-Coast offense pretty well.  They also drafted Jordie Nelson out of K-State, a decent pick.  However, the team that totally owned this draft was our early Super Bowl opponent the Chiefs.  Wow, props to these guys, they cleaned up.

In other news, I make my way up to Wichita tomorrow for STATE FORENSICS!!!  Oh yes, I’m a Jack of all trades.  I’m a freaking Thespian, a freaking Thespian people.  I’m less than enthused.  I do that stuff to make people laugh.  If I have to compete for a laugh, I don’t see the point in it.  But hey whatever, it’s something to do I suppose.  That’s about it.  Until next time, America.  Take it easy.

Things are finally looking up.

Welp, looks like the good Lord finally decided to shine down on me for a bit.  Although I have two tests and a speech that I’m totally unprepared for, I’m otherwise doing peachy keen.  Today, after a week of sleeping on the hardwood floor, I got my FREAKING fouton.  It will be nice sleeping on something that’s not as cold and hard as (insert funny comparison here).  Also, the teacher mentioned in a previous post finally came to his senses and started teaching again.  The only bummer is, I actually didn’t mind having a whole hour to just chill, but that’s ok.

In the wide world of sports, my Suns look to go down in the first round of the NBA playoffs.  The freakin’ Spurs every year man, it gets on my nerves.  They’ve had their share, now share!  Of course I sort of speak from a hypocratic viewpoint because I am a Yankees fan.  But in my defense, they are way too inconsistent this year, and A-Rod is out for a while.  Geez, what a sucky time to be a fan of these teams, but other than that I’m doing ok.

You may be wondering why I have gone back to my normal boring posts as opposed to my previous two rantings and points of view.  Then again, you may not be.  Either way you are still reading so I shall continue with my reasoning.  I figure that since I have been so serious with my recent posts, a little boring relief is needed.  It’s like the theatre, for all of you Thespians out there.  A balance of drama and comic relief is needed to maintain a good effect.  Anyways, I’m rambling, but I like it.

Speaking of Thespians and what-not, my Drama/Forensics class has an individual event due tomorrow.  What I decided to do is an Informative speech, mainly because I think that I have a lot of informing to do.  My topic is somewhat unusual and macabre.  Serial killers, types of, details, and how they are good at what they do.  It’s something that isn’t well done, and it contrasts greatly to my normally funny (or not funny, depending on how you perceive me) self.

It seems that I have now ran out of anything to say.  This post has been just a bunch of ramblings and a bit of info here and there.  Until next time, America.  Take it easy.

What a Magical Night!…

it was supposed to be on Saturday, and for the most part it was.  UHS Prom 2008 took place on the 12th.  I came in with my recently ex-significant other on a couch, placed on a forklift.  It got a very nice reaction from the crowd.  The dance was happenin’, I suppose, given today’s standards of ‘good music’ are constantly being lowered.  Anyways, afterwards a bunch of us went to my dad’s and watched Little Miss Sunshine.  I sat with the recently ex’ed person, and it was a pretty good night.  But, it just seemed like I was sending the wrong messages, and that feeling was confirmed later when she said she was getting those same messages that I wanted her back.  It’s hard breaking up with somebody you actually care for, especially after a whole year.  Make no mistake, I don’t want her back, but I would still like to continue being friends.  Excuse the cliche.  I’m not one to just break up and never talk to you again.  I’M SENSITIVE DAMN IT!!!  Just kidding.  But really, I like her as a friend and want nothing more than to be just good friends for a while.  I guess maybe down the line somewhere it’s possible, but not in the forseeable future.  Ahh, boulderdash, I’m done discussing it.  On to more pressing matters.

Bill Self announced that he is staying with the Jayhawks.  Of course, I’m not going to believe it until I see it.  If you may recall, one Roy Williams said the same thing, and three years later he was a Tar Heel.  I don’t think Self will do that, but you can’t ever be sure.

The NBA playoffs are going to be underway soon, and I’m anxious to see how the West unfolds.  Screw the East, it’s almost a foregone conclusion.  Although they have been playing a lot better ball, I fear the Suns will yet again miss out on an NBA title.  The West is loaded with awesome teams, and any of them could make it to the Finals.  However, my prediction is a classic Lakers-Celtics showdown, with the Celtics in 6 games.  Oh and on a minor note here something about the Stanley Cup Finals, oh ever mind. Well that does it for me today.  Until next time, America.  Take it easy.

How Sweet it is!

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to announce our new 2008 NCAA Men’s Basketball Champions, the Kansas Freaking Jayhawks!  I would personally like to thank Chalmers for hitting that crazy three ball.  Sherron Collins, you turned the game around when we were down 7 and you hit that corner three off the steal.  Kaun, props dude, you played well.  Everybody on the team, congrats.  This is one of the greatest games I have witnessed, as well as one of the worst meltdowns.  KU just didn’t give up, and Memphis seemed to have lost that magic free throw touch it had during the tournament.  Now to address a more serious issue, the status of Bill Self.  If he decides to stay, that is awesome.  I’m beginning to doubt it though.  It’s his alma-mater, they offered him bookoo bucks, and he just won a title.  If he leaves, and this is just a path I would like to see explored here, why not try and grab Bob Knight?  I honestly do not think he is done coaching, because he kind of all of a sudden up and left.

In other news, I am back on the hunt for a significant other.  It hasn’t even been a week, and I’m already tired of being single.  Weird how you want to be single, until you are.  I suppose I should really put more work into finding a girlfriend, seeing as I want one.  But I have come to a realization.  I’m not smooth, I have no game per say, and I have by no means breath taking looks.  I’d say I’m actually going to have to try and work to get one this time, and therein lies the problem.  I’m not a big ‘work’ type of guy.  By that I mean I like to avoid it whenever possible.  Some people call me lazy, but I say I’m just not work inclined.  It sounds better.  Well that pretty much does it for me.  ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!  Until next time America.  Take it easy.

What Can I Say…

to keep all of you avid readers interested in this blog?  I really have done nothing, unless you consider a forensics meet and a math competition something.  I haven’t had anything to say, hence the lack of postings.  Now an idea comes to mind.

My beloved Suns are feeling the repercussions of that Marion trade.  The team is 3-6 since Shaq joined the team, and it seems to me that nobody on the team can shoot anymore.  To my suprise, it is actually Shaq who is playing well.  He is scoring a bit, and his rebounding is improving as well as his hustle.  However, all of the flash that was the Suns has diminished.  How does one of the elite shooting teams in the NBA fall so quickly?  I haven’t figured it out yet.  I’m just hoping that they can get it together before they blow it.  In the West, you have to be consistent, or you’ll be going home fast.  That is really all I can give you for this post.  Until next time America.  Take it easy.
